1. The first thing you need to know is that to be profitable in affiliate marketing you need to target a particular niche, a specific group of buyers. While this sounds easy, it isn’t. It will be a lot easier if you can promote a certain type of product as a merchant but it isn’t the case.
2. When I say niche, it’s more of a geographical area. For example “gardening tools” is a niche that would apply to someone living in “Atlanta.” This can be a very specific, very targeted niche but it can be very challenging if it’s not.
3. If you can find a product (software or eBook for example), it will be a lot easier for you to promote. But there are times that a good product just isn’t there. It’s a fact that there are products out there that are more of an eBook.
4. The final tactic is to look at how you promote the product and decide if your approach is a paid or organic method. It’s up to you but I’m of the belief that you shouldn’t think of it as an organic method or a paid one. It should be a mixture of both.
So that’s about it, but I hope that the 4 suggestions above can help you. Remember, these tips are meant to assist you in making your choice and not necessarily tell you that you’re wrong. Remember that it’s easier to find a good product in a niche that is very targeted but it is a challenge as well. So take your time here.

Here’s an example, I recently went on a study abroad trip to Paris, France. We spent a month in this wonderful city and I came back with an amazing knowledge on the city and the culture.
Now, how did I know that I’m going to make money out of it? I went to the city and studied everything I could on the city, I also joined a few forum and social media sites, I also got in touch with the locals and eventually came up with an awesome little website showcasing my knowledge on Paris.
And that’s how I knew I’m going to make money out of it, I spent about 10 hours a week for a month in Paris figuring everything out.
Well, all you got to do is the same thing, you’re going to spend a month in a city, looking at everything there, you’re going to gather the locals contacts and you’re going to figure out ways to earn money from your contacts.
This is how you can make money out of people.
Well, that’s not it. You got to know which cities are hot, you got to know there are ways to make money through people, places you can make money with people. And you know what, you can start from zero with absolutely no money from your pocket, and that’s awesome too.
